CKDU represents the Halifax community through both diverse and local music, cultural events, and thought provoking talk shows. Our mandate is to offer programming that is an alternative to commercial radio stations: that means we don't play commercial music. In addition to our in-house policies and philosophies regarding this, it's also in our license that we can't play selections that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, along with various others.
