Hyderabad Radio Station began with a 1KW medium wave transmitter on 17 August .1955.This transmitter was replaced with a 10 KW medium wave transmitter on 25 December .1959.A 120 KW MW transmitter was commissioned on 4 February .1971 as channel-11 It shifted to the present broadcasting house in December 1962, which was inaugurated by president Ayoob Khan on 28 December,1962.The station arranged the Mirza Kaleech Baig ,Hassan Ali Effandi ,Allama Umar Bin Muhammad Daudpoto, and Allama II Qazi memorial lectures. Hyderabad was the first station to celebrate its inauguration day anniversary .It successfully experienced teaching painting through the medium of sound.
